This past Tuesday, 15, July 2008, was a special date for us here with the Brazilian Church of Christ in Newark, NJ. We had three people ready for baptism. Marcony, Magdala and Caroline. They are father, mother and daughter, and we were very happy to welcome them to the family of God.
Ricardo baptized Marcony, who is also his boss. Ricardo is the one who originally brought this family to church.
Next up was Magdala. I told her I'd get her back out of the water!
Finally, Caroline. I love this picture because her parents were back there, looking on.
The Brazilian congregation borrowed the building of a local American church for these baptisms. We don't have a baptistery of our own yet.For more pictures from that night, check out my album on Facebook. You don't need a Facebook login to view it.
God bless your ministries! May those baptized continue to grow in the Lord.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! This must have been such a blessing to you and the entire church. Thanks be to God.
ReplyDeletePhil and Frank,
ReplyDeleteThanks. It was very encouraging to me and the church. I'm switching gears into discipleship studies with the family now, and one of the other men from church (Ricardo, the one who baptized Marcony) is setting up a study with another couple. Your prayers for us and this mission to Brazilian immigrants would be appreciated.
