Stone-Campbell Movement in Brazil (1-5)

The following is the complete series about Restoration Movement (Christian Churches and Churches of Christ) mission work in Brazil. The Disciples of Christ are only mentioned in the country profile I linked to in the first post, as they work through ecumenical partners in Brazil rather than directly, and apparently have no one on the ground right now.

Though I've tried to be fair, there's probably no way for me to be entirely unbiased. I invited comments and questions. There is certainly more that could and should be said about the work in Brazil.

Adam,

I noticed on you profile that you describe yourself as not only a past missionary to Brazil but also a future missionary. Does this mean that you plan to return to Brazil? If so, when?

I was a missionary in Uberlandia, Brazil from 2001 to October 2003. We are currently bivocational with the Brazilian church here in Newark, NJ. We are working out plans to return to Brazil, eventually. My intention is to complete first at least an Associates in IT, then a Master of Divinity (this latter perhaps through Emmanuel School of Religion in Tennessee). It may take 10 years or so, and all depends on the Lord's leading. I'd like to return to Uberlandia and do church-based community development work, as well as start a Bible college.
