McCain Against the RPG Crowd

"It may be typical of the pro-Obama Dungeons & Dragons crowd to disparage a fellow countryman's memory of war from the comfort of mom's basement, but most Americans have the humility and gratitude to respect and learn from the memories of men who suffered on behalf of others." -- Michael Goldfarb on McCain's campaign website

As a fan of fantasy and RPG games who's somewhat into technology and fond of Obama despite some reservations, I'm offended. Why on earth would his campaign want to put off an entire demographic that he may actually need? Most of us he so maligns are actually pretty successful, well-rounded people with our own keys, library cards and everything. Of course, our small successes are nothing compared to Senator McCain, who isn't even sure how many houses he owns.

Check out Threat Level's post on the McCain campaign's opposition to RPG players. The comments answering the post asks, "If John McCain were a D&D character, what kind would he be?" Some of the answers are hilarious.
