Why Do You Like KDE?

About a month ago Jeremy LaCroix asked, "Is Kubuntu Caught in a Downward Spiral?" As a fan of KDE, Jeremy wants Kubuntu to be great and succeed. His article explains well his valid, well-considered obvervations and concerns for the future of Kubuntu. As for myself, I've never liked the KDE desktop environment. I'm really not sure why, and suspect it's just a matter of preference. Some folks are KDE enthusiasts, and so I'd like to ask them a simple question.

Why do you like KDE?

Please, no direct attacks on other desktop environments (useful comparisons are encouraged) and absolutely no jabs at KDE unless they are constructive criticisms. I would like to hear from users of KDE, no matter the distro, on what they think is great about the desktop environment.
